Of the 333 photos I took at the party (and you all thought I was afk!!) I finally narrowed it down to my 22 favorite. You can see tham at my Flickr site:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/86299270@N00/
Don't look at them as they are posted - that is just the reverse order that I loaded them. Go to the set named 070101 (sure it seems like an unimaginative name, but 50 years from now when we all have hundreds of sets of photos on Flickr, mine will all be chronologically organized!). Then click through that set. You need to view the photos in the order that I organized them - that's all there is to it! Don't do the slide show because you will not get the commentary that goes with each photo.

Now, can anyone tell me how to create an avatar photo for the freeforum that is less than 8KB - but more than a single pixel?! You all did it but it's not working for me!

Thanks!
Malachite

Send me a photo of yourself that has a good face shot, and I'll make them for you--I'd love to do it!!!! Make sure I have all permissions!!

Just give it to me in SL or email me at dakota@paradiselostclub.com. Maybe email is better as I can take any format and size, and permissions are not an issue.

Mala if you want to do it yourself, I know it's maddening--you have to use "save for web" in photoshop (try PNG-Cool AFTER changing the spectrum to Index color to cut it down far enough! I did it for Helena, I would have done it for you, but I don't have a really good face shot--all mine of you are situational group shots!!! I tried to lift one of your Flickr shots of you, but i need to start with a higher res to get a quality reduction. Brian, I haven't looked but I might have one already..or just give me the one you want used....

GREAT PICS BY THE WAY MALA!!! I ENJOYED THE SET VERY MUCH!!!!

Very nice pictures did you make. I have to learn with which graphic-settings my computer will make more detailed screenshots. Does someone know the answer to the mystery of the graphicssettings? Confused
I compressed my small avatar-picture with corel-draw photo-paint, it is also possible with lots of other photo-tool-software, I like for example Fireworks 3 by macromedia- it is an old version and you can get it cheap (maybe by ebay)

Cool greetings from Berlin Very Happy

Andromega,

I always "Save to Disk" when I shoot (that way I don't have to pay 10L to upload junk shots, plus I can modify them in Photoshop). I set the resolution to the highest setting - 1600 x 1200. The ones I uploaded to Flickr I dumbed down to 512 x 384 to save space.

See ya!

Malachite,

thank you for your help. I save also to the disk, and shoot by 1680x1050 pix (widescreen). i think my problem is how to find the best balance of the preferences ( Graphics and Graphicsdetail) at the startside of SL.
i will try it - learning by doing.

you got a really nice new picture of your avatar!

See you in SL Smile
